Cultivating a personal color palette and adapting sewing patterns for your silhouette is at the forefront of this workshop series. We will focus our energy on a simple process to unveil how color relates to you and what color can reveal about you. We will explore skin tone and color balance, patterns and solids - how they work for you and within your collection. We will redefine how we view our body shape and perfect our garment choices in shape, length and fabric choices.
Here we only speak true and positive words to ourselves and each other. Our community is made up of like-minded, creative, beautiful people like you. We deserve a safe, happy and upbeat environment to share and speak openly about our challenges and discoveries. Color is a vital step in discovering your personal palette, whether you gravitate toward bright, neutral, or pastel tones. From there, we can choose between prints, solids, or a blend of both. Color and pattern are among the most powerful tools we have in building a personal wardrobe. Color not only highlights or downplays elements as desired but also establishes the mood of a garment and over all look you seek. Its emotional influence is deep, making it crucial to understand how it works. I can’t wait to explore this with you!

BODY SHAPE AND FIT
As unique as we are on the inside, our bodies are just as diverse on the outside! Fit & style is one of the most challenging aspects of garment design. When offering sewing patterns, our size charts may be loose for more relaxed styles or as precise as possible for somewhat fitted pieces. Designs are styled to be a little loose to oversized for creating shape for our bodies, and comfort for a relaxed yet elegant look.
Many of us fall between sizes or vary in limb shape, height, or waist size. Body types range from apple to pear, diamond to square, petite to full, and even within those labels, we differ greatly.
YOU: offers insights into choosing garment shapes, lengths, and layers that work for all body types. We also provide techniques for altering garments and adjusting patterns for a custom fit.
