I wanted to write this article because I am currently reviewing and reflecting on my life on a personal level. It is with self-compassion and self-love that I turn to these days to awaken myself, my spirit, and my soul. Being a creative human being my mind has to declutter from time to time, as I am sure we all do. From my point of view, my relationships are invaluable to me but sometimes I soak up others' energy as we all do. And sometimes we have to reflect on that and turn it out. I do this by taking time to be still. I am sure we are all on the move every day, day in and day out with responsibilities, relationships, household chores, and appointments. I urge you to stop for a moment in your week and take time for just you. Tap into your inner wisdom, passion, creativity, and resilience.
Your spirit is an essential part of your being, and it is responsible for giving you purpose, motivation, and inspiration. When you awaken your spirit, you light up and that helps you to tap who you are deep down. Remember that little girl who ran with the wind, not a care in the world? Bring her back into your consciousness and think about her. She was so free to be anything. So I urge you to awaken your spirit and refresh and open your eyes to an enhanced you!
Here are my favorite things to do:
1. Slow down and listen
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in the chaos and noise. To awaken your spirit, take some time to slow down and listen to your inner voice. This may mean meditating, journaling, or simply taking a walk in nature without any distractions. I am not so much a meditation girl, but I do listen to music and play 1930s joyful blues and jazz. Billy Holiday is a favorite crooner. She sings to my soul! I do journal a lot whether it's drawing or writing to get inspiration, churn up a poem, and keep it for you. I do walk too, but not in the cold. Sorry, not going to happen. A good drive in the car with the sunroof open in frigid temperatures if it is sunny and the heat turned up -- this always gets Webster (my Chihuahua) and me a little gilt of happiness.
2. Practice gratitude
Gratitude is a powerful tool for awakening your spirit. When you take the time to appreciate the good things in your life, you cultivate a positive mindset and attract more positivity into your life. Start a gratitude practice by listing three things you're grateful for each day, or mentally thanking someone who has made a positive impact on your life. I am so grateful for my children, that I have a roof over my head, my nest! I am grateful for having a loving and supportive sister who is the complete opposite of me, and I am grateful for the friends I have around the world. I am also blessed and so very thankful for you. You're an amazing community of wonderful beings who inspire me every day. And I am grateful that I can share what I do with you!
3. Connect with others
Your spirit is not separate from those around you. To awaken your spirit, it's essential to connect with others and form meaningful relationships. This may involve joining a social club, volunteering, or simply reaching out to someone you admire and asking to grab a cup of coffee. I know I can reach out to my close tribe, and I always feel great! But, did you know I am an introvert? So reaching out to new people is very difficult for me. I don't have time for a social club because I am too busy with what I do. I sometimes volunteer and that always makes my spirit sing.
4. Pursue your passions
Your passions are the fuel that feeds your spirit. This is so very true! To awaken your spirit, it's essential to identify what you're passionate about and pursue it with vigor. I know you sew alongside me and it makes my day. You curate fabric and designs you gravitate toward. I ask, what is your most passionate endeavor? Do you write, paint, or illustrate? Do you make beautiful things outside of your wardrobe? Do you cook, bake, or make quilts? If so, this is a part of your soul, so you nurture that as much as you can. It will continue to invigorate your soul!
5. Take care of your body
Did you know, our physical health is closely tied to our spiritual health? To awaken your spirit, it's essential to take care of your body by eating well, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.
Healthy eating is at the core of a healthy spirit. Cut out a few sugary treats and add in a few more healthy vegetables. Cut out a few carbs now and then, your body and stomach will thank you. I don't know about you but if I eat heavy carbs my stomach is not happy, and so I am miserable. Don't get me wrong I love pasta and bread, but I try to moderate these yummy foods! I believe our stomach is an essential part of our female body that connects with our well-being so very much. Keep it healthy and you will feel so good!
So please, take some time to awaken your spirit. It is profound and gives us transformative experiences that can lead to greater fulfillment, joy, and success in all areas of our life. By slowing down, practicing gratitude, connecting with others, pursuing your passions, and taking care of your body, you can tap into your inner wisdom and light up your inner being within yourself which will help you to live your best life.
Thanks for being here! I thought a little diversion is nice sometimes to create thought and reflection.

Sewing is when I take time to reflect on things in my life. I am most content when I am sewing and I don’t know what my life would be like if I had never learned to sew. I even wrote my 7th grade teacher from 55 years ago thanking her for teaching me how to sew and I received the loveliest response from her.
❤️
I love reading your thoughts. Your creativity has enriched my life and radiates out to those I cherish as well. thank you for sharing your heart, Tina!
